Kaho is a privacy-first voice-dictation tool for macOS, built in Germany. It's designed for power users who type a lot, switch between English and German daily, and care about where their data goes. Hold a hotkey, speak, release — and Kaho returns clean, punctuated, optionally translated text wherever the cursor is. Multilingual-aware out of the box, with a per-user glossary that learns proper nouns and phonetic spellings.
Audio is processed on EU-friendly infrastructure and discarded the moment the transcript returns; nothing is retained, nothing is used for training. Pricing is €9 a month for individuals, €19 a seat for teams — about half the price of comparable American alternatives. Built and supported by a single founder, Rajan Jain, who answers support emails himself. Available on macOS 12 and above.

Founder
Rajan Jain, founder & sole developer.
Rajan Jain is the founder of Wovero GmbH and sole developer of Kaho. Based in Bad Hersfeld, Germany, he ships every release, answers every support email, and built Kaho in public after switching from a typing-heavy bilingual workflow that no existing tool handled well.
Rajan Jain is the founder of Wovero GmbH and the sole developer of Kaho. He started Wovero in 2025 in Bad Hersfeld, Germany, after years of jumping between English code, German notes, and Hindi conversations across a working day — and never finding a dictation tool that handled the switch gracefully or stored audio the way he wanted it stored, which is to say not at all. Kaho began as a tool he built for himself and ships under a single principle: the app should disappear when you don't need it and be exact when you do. He writes the code, signs the releases, and replies to every support email personally. Before Kaho, Rajan worked on infrastructure and product engineering across consumer and enterprise software in Germany and India.
